Lefty Logan Allen and righty Ariel Jurado will be the two starting pitchers for Panama in the World Baseball Classic, which is scheduled to begin this Friday, March 6. In the World Baseball Classic, Panama is placed in Group A, which will be hosted in Puerto Rico, and along with the host country and Panama, Cuba, Canada, and Colombia are also in the group. National team coach José Mayorga detailed that Allen, a Major League Baseball player with the Cleveland Guardians, will start this Friday when Panama makes its debut in the competition against Cuba. This game is scheduled for 11:00 AM (Panama time) at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in the city of San Juan. Meanwhile, righty Ariel Jurado will start against Puerto Rico on Saturday, March 7, at 6:00 PM (Panama time). On Sunday, the 8th, the team will play against Canada and will close the group stage on Monday, the 9th, against Colombia.
